Ahantaman Bank Records Growth In Deposits

The Ahantaman Rural Bank in the Western Region continues to achieve significant growth over the past years.

Year on year performance indicates growth in key performance areas such as deposits, investment, paid-up capital and total assets.

The bank’s deposits increased from GH¢178, 237,582 in 2022 to GH¢236,095,344 in 2023.

Its investments also increased from GH¢88, 786,719 to GH¢113,426,367 within the same period.

The chairman of the Board of Directors of the bank, Eric Daning disclosed this at the 36th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the bank held over the weekend at Apowa in the Ahanta West District of the region.

He noted that the visionary leadership of the board and management coupled with the loyalty of shareholders and customers have enabled the bank to ride the storms over the past years.

He mentioned that in compliance with regulatory directives, the bank has written to the Bank of Ghana to seek approval for the payment a recommended dividend of GH¢0.03 per share amounting to GH¢1,135,023.21, which is equivalent of 25% of profit after tax.

He indicated that the bank stands tall in the deployment of innovations in the Information, Communication Technology (ICT) sector to render efficient services to its customers.

“Services such as electronic passbook which enables customers to access their full account statements on their smartphones and AHACONNECT, which has a short code that enables customers to have 24/7 access to their account,” he added.

He revealed that during the period under review, an amount of GH¢630,710 was spent to support critical areas under the banks corporate social responsibility.

Regional Manager of ARB Apex Bank Eric Okyere, pointed out that the rural bank’s impressive growth is a testament of the effective measures by the management to position the bank as a leader in the industry.

The bank used the occasion to launch its 40th anniversary celebration which would be crowned in November this year with a durbar.
