AKA Murder Suspects Denied Bail

Five men suspected of murdering South African rapper AKA have been denied bail. The men appeared in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, where the magistrate deemed their release “reckless and irresponsible,” as reported by News24.

Last year, AKA, whose real name was Kiernan Forbes and his close friend Tebello Motsoane were gunned down outside a restaurant in Durban, an incident that sent shockwaves across South Africa.

Police have indicated that hitmen were paid to target AKA, although no motive for the killing has been revealed. In addition to the five men currently in custody, two more suspects are awaiting extradition from Eswatini.

The case continues to attract significant public attention as fans and the broader community seeks justice for the slain rapper.
