Akropong Class Of 68 Hosts Awards Activity

 

 

The Akropong Class of ‘68’, a group which focuses on uplifting the level of education, has hosted an awards ceremony to improve the standard of learning among pupils in the Akuapem North Municipality of the Eastern Region.

The awards ceremony acknowledged and motivated brilliant students at the various junior high schools (JHS) in the municipality.

The group also champions the expansion of programmes and the transformation agenda of the government in the municipality.

The chairman for the event, Mr. Kwadwo Kessedu Kwapong, explained that the English and Mathematics quiz competition, the outcome of which was the highlight of the event, will help uplift the experience of the pupils.

He encouraged the students in the municipality to take their education seriously to help them proceed to a higher level of education.

Mr. Kwapong indicated that the competition enhances the ability of the students to think critically in terms of finance and communication skills, and gain a better understanding of personal data.

The Chairman of Akropong Class of ‘68’, Mr. Kwadwo Afari, on his part, explained that the English and Mathematics quiz competition was to create awareness among the students of the academic battle ahead of their educational journey.

According to him, there is a need to improve the theoretical knowledge among students at the junior high level.

He said that the group has targeted Mathematics, besides language skills.

Mr. Kwadwo Afari indicated they also teach students the relevance of their learning, as well as the importance of hard work, success, and failure.

The participants grabbed money prizes during the awards ceremony at the Akropong Grace Presbyterian Church premises.

In all, twenty-seven junior high schools in the municipality participated in the exercise.
