Prince Amponsah from the Obuasi Golf Club made history at the Nsuta Golf Club as winner of the maiden edition of the Captain1 Golf Society Invitational tournament.
He returned a gross score of 151 to take home a trophy and the $1,000 prize money.
He was followed by Samuel Ghattey with a net score of 155 with Daniel Antwi finishing third with a net score of 159. They both took home a trophy and cash prize.
In the guests’ category, James Akwaboah, with a net score of 147 emerged winner and also took home a trophy and a cash prize.
Solomon Harvey from the Nsuta Golf Club won both longest drive prize while Mercy Werner and Thomas Seidu also won the closest to the pin prize.
Gideon Davidson and Nafiu Abubakar were identified as the mystery partners and took home $250 each and a trophy.
Co-founder of the Captain1 Golf Society, Pius Ayeh Appiah said they have noted and received feedbacks from the participants and would work on it to improve on the second edition after stressing that the Captain1 Golf Society has come to stay.
The competition was supported by E.K. Bonsu Limited, MOSPACKA Group Limited, Mosak Photos, B5 Plus, IPS, Wayoe Engineering, Zafco, Westfields, Caldor and the Nsuta Golf Club.
