Jacob Nettey, an ex-Accra Hearts of Oak captain, has condemned the way some Ghanaians are blatantly flouting the safety protocols put in place by President Akufo-Addo.
He made a particular reference to folks in Accra, who he thinks are toying with the pandemic which has killed thousands of people globally.
To him, the disregard for instructions from the President and health professionals is worrying, and he believes this should be accorded the urgency it needs.
Consequently, he has suggested that a large number of police personnel should be tasked to enforce and to ensure that people who fail to wear the mask are arrested.
“The level of in discipline in Accra regarding the wearing of masks is alarming. People behave as if there is nothing at stake. I think the police should arrest people who go town with no masks,” he said on GTV Sports Plus.
Under his tenure, Hearts of Oak extended their unprecedented local dominance to the continent, winning the CAF Champions League, the maiden CAF Confederations Cup and the CAF Super Cup.
Ghana is a little over a worrying figure of 5,000 cases ? with 22 deaths and over 400 deaths.
