Benjamin Dimongso Kafari being honoured by Fayudatu Yakubu
In recognition of his outstanding leadership and commitment to gender equity and women’s empowerment, Executive Director of ASERD-GHANA, Benjamin Dimongso Kafari, has been honored at the CelebrateHER Empowering Women Summit 2025, organized by the Balmaisha Foundation in Tamale to mark the 2025 International Women’s Day (IWD).
The Executive Director of ASERD-GHANA, Mr. Kafari has championed initiatives that promote socio-economic empowerment, peacebuilding, and human rights advocacy, creating lasting opportunities for women in rural communities.
His efforts have ensured that women’s voices are heard and included in development and decision-making processes, particularly in the North East, Upper East, Savannah, and Northern regions of the country.
Through strategic partnerships with organizations such as USAID, UNDP, YALI, ASOHOM, the European Union/COGINTA, among others, Mr. Kafari has driven impactful change, advancing gender inclusion and equity.
His work has contributed significantly to women’s participation in leadership, economic development, environmental management, peace and security, and social progress, paving the way for a more inclusive society.
The CelebrateHER Empowering Women Summit brought together policymakers, development organizations, and gender equality advocates to acknowledge individuals and institutions dedicated to advancing women’s rights and opportunities.
The recognition of Mr. Kafari highlights his remarkable contributions to promoting women’s empowerment and fostering inclusive development in Ghana.
Fayudatu Yakubu, CEO of Balmaisha Foundation, who presented the award, commended Mr. Kafari’s dedication to uplifting women and ensuring their active involvement in Ghana’s development.
