FIFTY TWO year old Kusase Chief of Ashanti Region, Sarki Malik Azimbe, has been shot three times in the left side of his stomach by four unknown assailants in Kumasi, leading to his death. The gunmen after committing what looked like a contract killing, have gone into hiding and they are being chased by police.
The deceased traditional leader was said to be standing in front of his house at Asawase F-line near the Community Centre at 8:35pm on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, when four men, two each sitting on two different motorbikes appeared at the scene and shot him at close range and speed away.
Kumasi Airport Police Sitrep, confirming the news, which the DAILY GUIDE has spotted, said the blood-thirsty hoodlums also fired a series of gunshots into a nearby barbering shop to prevent some young from coming to the rescue of the chief.
“The Chief was rushed to Manhyia District Hospital with gun shot wounds for treatment but was referred to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital where he was pronounced dead”, the police report disclosed, adding that virtually all the top police officers in Kumasi, including the regional commander, visited the crime scene after hearing about the incident.
