Deputy Minister of Trade & Industry, Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah, who is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kwaebibirem Rural Bank in the Eastern Region, has donated a Toyota pick-up vehicle to the Akyem-Asuom Health Centre.
The vehicle would be used in transporting patients referred from the clinic to the Kade Hospital and other health institutions.
Presenting the keys of the pick-up to the Kade District Health Director, Mr. Brainard Asare, Mr. Ahenkorah stated that the bank as part of its corporate responsibilities decided to donate the vehicle to the clinic for their clinical operations at least in the absence of an ambulance.
“The vehicle is going to be used solely for the health centre duties if the use of the vehicle is going to be monitored by health personnel then I can assure you that the lifespan of the pick-up will be long,” he said.
He revealed that during the early part of this year, the bank donated GH¢7,000 for the renovation of the health centre.
Mr. Asare, who received the Toyota pick-up on behalf of the clinic, thanked Mr. Ahenkorah for his kind gesture.
