Team Enyiresi has won the 2023 edition of the Easter Gala by Member of Parliament for Atiwa East, Abena Osei-Asare.
This is the ninth edition of the annual event organised by the Deputy Finance Minister.
The grand finale took place at the Anyinam Presby Park in the Atiwa East District of the Eastern Region, which was graced by former Black Stars coach, James Kwasi Appiah.
Team Enyiresi defeated Adasawase 4-3 on penalties to win the three-week competition.
The winners received medals and GH¢5,000 cash reward for their efforts.
The runners-up took home GH¢3,000, while the third-placed team, Bebome received GH¢2,000.
Anyinam Zongo finished fourth and took home GH¢1,500.
New Jejeti was named the fair play team, while Dickson Okyere from Enyiresi was adjudged the best player of the tournament. He took home a cash amount of GH¢1,000 and souvenirs.
The players also received jerseys and other souvenirs donated by former Black Stars Coach Kwasi Appiah, who was the special guest of honour.
The competition, which started on March 18, ended on April 10 at Anyinam, attracting some 28 communities.
The lawmaker, in her speech, pledged her commitment to uniting the community through such events and also to unearth talents.
Abena Osei-Asare used the occasion to advise the youth to be disciplined and desist from social vices.
