Flagbearer of the All People’s Congress (APC), Hassan Ayariga, has picked Frank Yaw Kwadey as his running mate for the December 7, 2020 Presidential Election.
Mr Kwadey is a 48 year-old Accountant who hails from the Volta Region of Ghana.
He was outdoored at Mr Ayariga’s East Legon Under Bridge Lounge on Thursday, October 1, 2020.
The APC also at the ceremony launched its manifesto ahead of the 7th December, 2020 polls.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Ayariga stated that the choice of his running mate was not based on ethnocentrism or someone who is deemed wealthy but a person who has gone through what the ‘ordinary’ Ghanaian goes through, so as to have a better understanding of the needs of the people.
Leadership of the APC during the event, proclaimed the need for all inclusiveness in Ghana’s governance system, to ensure that all Ghanaians have a key role to play in sharing the national cake.
Mr Ayariga spoke extensively on the need not to allow just a clique of Ghanaians have dominance over the control of our resources.
Outdooring the policies captured in their manifesto, the flag bearer shared sentiments and sober reflections on how dilapidated critical service facilities such as hospitals, schools among other things are, and also how the sovereignty of Ghana has been entrusted into the care of foreigners to loot.
He stressed on the need to put Ghanaians first in every affair of the country, if we must develop as a country.
The APC promised to continue the free SHS policy but intends to make it free from the basic level through to tertiary.
This will ensure increase to access of education from the base through to the higher levels and not just free education to result in more SHS leavers.
Another highly held policy by the APC is the policy of Unique Identification. This policy will see to the existence of 3 different passports for Ghanaians. The flag bearer stated that, there would be a unique passport for first class citizens thus, a Ghanaian with both parents being Ghanaians.
The other two would be for Ghanaians who have either of their parents being Ghanaians and the other passport would be for those who naturalise to be Ghanaians respectively.
This according to him, is to ensure that the ordinary Ghanaians comes first at the helm of affairs.
He added that, National Data System is yet another policy to be rolled out by the APC, should it be given the mandate to govern this country. The National Data System will capture the information and details of every Ghanaian and will help check corruption in the country.
There would also be the establishment of Job Centres in every region so that Ghanaians can apply for jobs through the Job Centres, since companies would only have to contact the Job Centres on the qualification and number of workers needed.
The National Data System would be link to all these other systems to make it happen, Dr Hassan intimated.
Concluding on the manifesto launch, Dr. Hassan Ayariga spoke on the need for peace and tranquility ahead of the December 2020 election and that no President can rule a burning nation. He urged the media to be professional in their reportage and avoid publishing stories that are capable of inciting choas in the country.
