In a show of solidarity and support, the Germany Branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) paid a courtesy call on the party’s 2024 presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, at his Cantonments residence.
The visit, which took place on December 21, 2024, was a gesture of goodwill and appreciation for Bawumia’s efforts during the recent presidential election.
According to reports, the Germany Branch was deeply involved in
Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign, with members traveling to Ghana to support him.
The branch’s chairman, Dr. Felix Yamoah, led the delegation and congratulated Bawumia on a “good job done” despite the party’s loss in the election.
Dr Bawumia, who was visibly grateful for the visit, thanked the Germany Branch for their efforts and support during the campaign.
He acknowledged that the branch had been instrumental in his campaign, following him to various events and rallies.
Despite the party’s loss, Dr Bawumia remained optimistic about the NPP’s future prospects.
He emphasized the need for the party to undertake research to understand why they lost the election, despite having a superior record.
Dr Bawumia also acknowledged the role of God in the outcome of the election, stating that “God is the ultimate decider.”
In his remarks, Dr. Yamoah expressed confidence that the NPP could win the next election in 2028 if they reorganize properly.
This sentiment was echoed by Bawumia, who emphasized the need for the party to learn from its mistakes and move forward.
