Big Durbar For King Mswati III

 

KING MSWATI III of Eswatini will be honoured with a big durbar of chiefs and people of Asanteman at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on Thursday, June 26, 2025.

The itinerary of the monarch’s visit to the country said King Mswati III and his delegation would stay in the country from June 24-28, 2025, and they would attend a number of events.

The itinerary, which has been sighted by the paper, said the visiting king on his arrival on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, would hold bilateral talks with President John Mahama in Accra.

On Wednesday, June 25, King Mswati III would officially be welcomed at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, by his host, the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

He would then tour the Manhyia Museum, then address the National House of Chiefs at Manhyia and visit the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) to end the day’s activities.

The main event, which is the grand durbar of chiefs and people of Asanteman, with the Asantehene sitting in state, would be organised on Thursday at the Manhyia Palace.

King Mswati III on Friday, would tour the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi for him to acquaint himself with the academic activities of the top educational institution.

Later on that day, there would be a royal banquet at the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Jubilee Hall in the Manhyia Palace to help entertain the visiting monarch and his entourage.

On Saturday, King Mswati III would join Otumfuo, who is the Chancellor of the KNUST, to attend the university’s congregation before he departs to Accra the same day.

Meanwhile, there was massive cleanup exercise in Kumasi by the KMA and the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) to clean the city ahead of King Mswati III’s royal visit to Kumasi.
