BRYAN Acheampong, Minister of State In Charge of National Security and Member of Parliament for Abetifi Constituency in the Eastern Region has given scholarships to 70 teachers.
The scholarship scheme was awarded by his Foundation to 70 out 100 teachers who have served the District for 10 years to pursue their Master’s Degree at the Abetifi Presbyterian University College in the Kwahu East District.
Bryan Acheampong after presenting a cheque of GH¢ 208,250.00 to the College Authorities on Tuesday reiterated that he wanted to make Kwahu an educational town in the next 20 years as they plan to introduce Kwahu University college in subsequent years.
He added that it was prudent to provide scholarships to teachers who have thought in the constituency for 10 years to attain their masters.
The President of Presbyterian University College, Prof. Rev. Addo Obeng, after receiving the cheque which was witnessed by the beneficiaries, said the program provides students with in-depth knowledge on new trends in education.
The President of the College explained that the professional teachers will go through a two-semester program whereas the non-professional teachers would take a three-semester program.
