An estimated 400 top Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) and business leaders are expected to converge on Accra between 20th and 21st May 2019 to deliberate on the future of the Ghanaian economy through the technology-driven arena.

The CEOs would be drawn from companies with annual turnover of not less than GH¢20 million.

This was made known at the launch of the 4th edition of the flagship Ghana CEO Summit yesterday in Accra.

Speaking at the launch, Founder and CEO of the Ghana CEO Summit, Ernest De-Graft Egyir, explained that this year’s summit would be held under the theme: The Futuristic Economy: Technology-Driven Future of Business & Governance for Economic Transformation.”

According to him, discussions this year would focus on how the technology revolution taking place around the world can revitalize Ghana’s economic growth.

The founder indicated that attention would also be paid to identifying the kinds of technology required to help with the economic transformation agenda and how such technologies are going to bring about the desired change.

He explained that there would also be discussions on how to build an African multinational company, adding that “in a session, selected accomplished CEOs will share and explain in practice how they strategized and executed corporate strategies in many African countries.”

CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Yoofi Grant, who chaired the launch, said Ghana was making significant progress in using technology to transform its economy.

He said Ghana was looking at new type of CEOs, saying that “a CEO, who is knowledgeable, capable and enabled, is not only good for the Ghana context but the international context.”

The GIPC boss said he was happy to see Ghanaians doing things that have international impact in the innovation space.
