The newly installed chief of Sefwi Adiembra, also the Kyidomhene of the Sefwi Boinzan Traditional Council, Nana Kwasi Owusu II, has vowed to deal with individuals who will take the law into their hands to commit crimes that the law enforcement agencies should have taken over.
The newly installed chief, known in private life as Benjamin Owusu, a police officer currently stationed in Suhum, made this known when he was officially outdoored to the public as chief of the area over the weekend.
Addressing the gathering, he said as a police officer, he will make sure the law takes its course, thus warning the youth from undertaking instance justice in the area.
He, therefore, cautioned the youth to report any individual who commits a crime to the area queenmother or elders of the town in his absence than taking the law into their own hands and beating alleged suspects to death.
He also noted that illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey, is rampant in the area, hence will put measures in place to fight against the menace.
Nana Owusu noted his outfit will establish an educational fund to support girl-child education in the area.
The new chief, however, urged the natives from the community, who are in the diaspora, to come on board and rally behind him to help develop the area.
