Jesus Life Fm broadcasting the prayers life
THE ONLY Christian radio station in Sunyani, the Brong-Ahafo Region, Jesus Life Fm, popularly known as J-Life Fm, apparently shocked Muslims yesterday when it surfaced at the Coronation Park with its gadgets and other items to broadcast the celebration and prayer session of the Islamic festival of Eid-il-Fitr live.
Even though some of the Muslims thought the station was a bit late, they were happy it came to give them live coverage.
Speaking to DAILY GUIDE, the news editor of J-Life Fm, Odeneho Kwasi Appiah, said the station decided to cover the programme live because it has a lot of Muslim listeners, more especially as it is situated near the Zongo.
He said the owner of the station, Bishop David Donkor, didn’t hesitate to offer the services when he was approached, though nothing was charged.
Some Muslim brothers and sisters observed with pride how Muslims and Christians can co-exist to do things in common, contrary to what obtains in some other jurisdictions.
Regional Chief Imam, Umar Abdul Kadir, led Muslims in the region to observe prayers after 30 days of fasting. Addressing them, he thanked Allah for taking them through another 30 days of successful fasting. He also thanked God for the peace the country is enjoying and asked Him to take Ghana through another peaceful election this year.
Deputy Regional Minister, Justice Samuel Adjei, speaking on behalf of President Mahama, asked Muslim leaders to prevail upon their youth in the Zongo communities not to be influenced by politicians to cause confusion this year during the elections.
Sunyani East MP, Ameyaw Kwesi Cheremeh, also appealed to Muslim youth not to do anything untoward to mar the peace the country is enjoying during the electioneering campaigns.
