President Akufo-Addo
President Akufo-Addo has ordered beaches, nightclubs, pubs and cinemas in Ghana to remain closed until further notice as part of measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
He made this known during his 17th address to the nation to give updates on the virus on Sunday.
According to the President, he will keep restrictions until further consultations from health associations say otherwise.
“Our borders, by land and sea will remain closed to human traffic until further notice. Beaches, pubs, cinemas and nightclubs remain closed until further notice. All other institutions that have been cleared to function are to continue to do so in strict adherence to the Covid-19 protocols,” he indicated.
That part of Ghana’s creative art industry has not been functioning since March 2020 after government imposed restrictions to stem the spread of Covid-19.
Meanwhile, the President has extended the mandatory wearing of face masks by another three months.
“So until December 14 2020, the wearing on masks remains mandatory,” President Akufo-Addo added.
