The biggest night in the beauty and makeup industry came off on Saturday night when several awards were handed out to outstanding stakeholders for their various contributions to the industry.
This was at the 2021 Ghana Beauty Awards held at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra.
Organised by Makeup Ghana in collaboration with First Choice Hair & Beauty, the award ceremony celebrated pioneers, leading professionals and upcoming talents as well as businesses and brands who have immensely contributed to the growth of the beauty economy.
One of Ghana’s biggest beauty brands, Colorbox Cosmetics won two awards; Beauty Brand of the Year and Digital Commerce & Marketing while Abrantie College also won the Beauty School of the Year.
Best Spa & Wellness Centre and Barber of the Year awards went to Janem Salon & SPA and Andrews Asare respectively.
Other awards like Best Salon Studio and Photographer of the Year also were taken by Studio 7 Beauty Lounge and Twinsdontbeg.
The award was attended by dignitaries such as Catherine Afeku, who is the Minister of State at the Office of the President of Ghana, Minister for Energy Matthew Opoku Prempeh, actress Martha Ankomah, Dentaa and actor Henry Adofo among others.
This year’s award was hosted by TV3 on-air personality, Berla Mundi with GHOne TV’s Regina Van Helvert as the red carpet host. There were music and comedy performances by Adina, Hogan The Comedian and Chief Moomen.
The award ceremony is the 5th edition. It used to be called the Ghana Makeup Awards but it has been rebranded to Ghana Beauty Awards this year.
