Council of State member, Ing Aminu Amadu, interacted with the Ivorian President, Alassane Ouattarra, in Mecca at the end of the Hajj rituals last week.

Ing Aminu Amadu, a leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), and the Ivorian leader were said to have discussed matters of mutual importance to their respective countries. Interestingly, the two persons belong to the Mole-Dagbani genealogical tree – their languages, Dagbani and Mossi, are similar to each other. The two ethnic groups are playmates.

The Ivorian leader also held lengthy discussions with the Vice-President, Mahamudu Bawumia, on how to improve ties between their two countries. Dr. Bawumia never fails to seize such opportunities to present the Ghana narrative for both PR and tie improvement purposes.

Ing Aminu Amadu is part of government delegation which accompanied the vice-president to this year’s Hajj which has come to an end and pilgrims from some countries have started their homeward trips.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the government delegation are expected in Accra today.
