A consultancy and investment firm, Done By Us, in collaboration with KGL Foundation has launched the Africa Street MBA 2024.
The project will help bridge the business knowledge gap among economically disadvantaged young entrepreneurs, by providing world-class business knowledge based on top MBA curriculum.
The event took place in Accra on the theme, ‘Empowering African Entrepreneurs Into Global Giants’.
Founder of Done By Us and Executive Director of Africa Street MBA, King A. Wellington, said the project aims to empower young Ghanaians, with tools and knowledge they need to adapt as entrepreneurs.
He said the 2023 project impacted business knowledge to over 5,000 youth across the country through both virtual and in-person sessions.
Mr. Wellington also disclosed that, this year’s target is to reach about 10,000 young Ghanaians across six regions through training in 30-40 communities.
He added that the project will build the employability skills of 10 unemployed young women and they will undergo a one month paid internship to gain work experience.
Programmes Manager, KGL Foundation, Samuel Nii Annorbah-Sarpei said his organisation believes in investing in young people.
He also disclosed that DONE BY US is not the only organisation KGL Foundation is partnering with, but have supported 48 other NGOs to bring about the change they have always wanted in the country.
Speaking at the event, Officer for Press, Culture and Economic Affair, German Embassy, Lisa Schmidt, mentioned that the government is making efforts in fostering entrepreneurship in the country through various programmes.
She also disclosed that, they were investing in young future leaders with their Africa 2024 to 2026 fellowship.
