Otumfuo Osei-Tutu II
Otumfuo Osei-Tutu II has called on the local media to eschew negativity in their reports regarding Asante Kotoko.
That was a special appeal communicated by Manhyia’s Chief of Staff, Kofi Badu, during the nine-member board inauguration last Tuesday.
And it was aimed at courting the media folks to use their various platforms to promote the Porcupine Warriors rather than destroying it.
He said it is high time the media shunned negative reports geared towards running the club down but rather promote it to attain higher heights that will endear it to the corporate world and fans.
Kofi Badu mentioned pleaded with the local media to place the interest of the club first rather than satisfying their parochial interest.
“His Majesty wishes to make a special appeal to the media. He has brought these noble men and women to place their expertise at the disposal of the Golden Stool to serve Asanteman,” he said.
“It is our duty to respect the services that they are offering…and render onto them the recognition and support that is due them. It is my hope that the media will wise up, and accept hereafter to close the door to all the negative attitudes which that have prevailed in your relationship with Kotoko…Promote Kotoko’s progress and not destroy it,” added.
The Kwame Kyei-led nine-member board has been tasked to restore the club’s fortunes.
