In a remarkable display of progress, the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) has transformed over 80 kilometers of roads across five district assemblies in Greater Accra Region.
Launched in July 2024, DRIP empowers Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to rehabilitate and maintain local road networks, enhancing community infrastructure, accessibility, and supporting residents and businesses.

DRIP was launched by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on July 31, 2024, at the Black Star Square.
This initiative aims to revolutionize road infrastructure, creating a ripple effect of economic empowerment, job creation, and improved quality of life for residents across the country.
*Impact on Greater Accra*
During a recent site visit, DRIP Regional Coordinator Ebenezer Nii Narh Nartey shared updates on the program’s impact, noting significant transformations in areas such as Awoshie, Sowutuom, Amasaman, Old Barrier, and Weija.
Notable achievements include:Weija-Gbawe in Ga South: 26 kilometers of roads improved, Ga West: nearly 18 kilometers completed
and Ga North: 12 kilometers on the track
Mr. Nartey praised the progress, describing it as “very impressive”.
The success of DRIP underscores the government’s dedication to enhancing road infrastructure and improving living standards for Greater Accra residents.
