Accra will be hosting one of the most impactful art exhibitions ever dubbed ‘E.art.h Exhibition’ on August 30 – 31 at the Berj Art Gallery, Labone.
This is a two-day event that seeks to raise awareness on the problems of plastic waste and its effects on Ghanaians and the country as a whole.
It is anticipated to attract people from all walks of life passionate about art and development in the country.
The project lead, David Ankamah, said the exhibition will be a stepping stone to engender conversations and cause societal change in Ghana.
“I am confident that this event will help create more attention on this alarming issue in Ghana and serve as a call to action for stakeholders to put in place measures that can curb the situation,” he added.
The maiden exhibition will see several artworks from various artistes, and it promises to be a fun-filled event.
The event is open to the public and absolutely free for anyone who wants to take part.
The rate at which plastic waste is polluting Ghana’s environment has become a great issue of national concern.
It is estimated that if the menace of plastic waste is not checked, the sea is likely to be filled with more plastic than fishes by the year 2050.
Some persons have suggested different options to arrest the problem and that include the method of ‘reduce, reuse and recycling’.
That also involves refusing plastic bags and going to shopping with jute and paper bags/baskets instead of accepting plastic bags.
