The Electoral Commission (EC) has urged the media to stop using its old logo for their reportages.
According to the Commission in a statement signed by its Acting of Public Affairs, Sylvia Annoh, it has taken note of some media houses continuous use of its old logo instead of the new one.
“It has come to the attention of the Commission that a number of media houses continue to use the old logo of the Commission when carrying stories on the Electoral Commiseion,” it says.
“This comes to inform you that on Tuesday 4th December 2018, the Commission unanimously decided to revert to the original logo of the institution,” it added.
The issue of EC’s logo became a subject of controversy about six months to the 2016 presidential and parliamentary elections when the then Charlotte Osei-led Commission decided to introduce a new logo.
While sarcastically defending her action at the time, Madam Osei who is now a television show host, says “We saw it, we loved it, we chose it.”
