Gladys Mensah Boaku (Nayas)
The police have charged Kumawood actress Nayas with unlawful entry after she illegally entered Adom FM premises to attack gospel musician Ernest Opoku.
Nayas, born Gladys Mensah Boaku, was formally charged on Tuesday and granted bail after The Multimedia Group filed a case with the Nima Police on Monday.
A furious Nayas on Monday stormed Adom FM with a cane hidden in her dress and attacked Ernest Opoku over claims that the musician had had sex with her.
The musician had just finished a Live Worship programme on the station when the attack occurred.
The police are also likely to charge the actress with assault after Ernest Opoku also made a complaint with the Nima Police Monday night.
When the actress arrived at the Nima Police, in the company of her mother on Tuesday, the gospel musician could not be reached and, therefore, Nayas couldn’t be charged with assault.
A police investigator was at Adom FM around 7:00 pm Monday to examine the scene of the alleged attack and also gather evidence.
What might have triggered the alleged attack?
Ernest Opoku had admitted in a previous interview of making a mistake by having an affair with the actress which resulted in a pregnancy.
The musician is reported to have pleaded with pastors and the general public to pray for him so he will not yield to temptations. He, in fact, blamed the devil, for the affair.
“Mistakes are committed by human beings. I am not an angel. The Bible says the righteous shall fall seven times but God shall lift him up. Pray for me so that God continues to lift me up. The fact that I have made a mistake does not mean the Lord has forsaken me,” he added.
Nayas who was clearly not amused by the gospel musician’s comments stormed the station’s premises on Monday to exact revenge.
An unyielding Nayas
Several people who had gathered at the station tried in vain to calm down an angry Nayas who said she would only forgive the musician if he retracts the comments and goes down on his knees to ask for forgiveness.
