Event Organisers Honour Kweikuma Cultural Group

 

Talented dancers from the Kweikuma Cultural Group were recognized for their significant contributions to the advancement of cultural music and dance in Ghana at a ceremony held there.

At the traditional music and dance competition held at Teshie in Accra, the group took home two prizes: best drumming group and overall best performance group.

The group which has over the years thrilled fans in Ghana and beyond beat competition from twelve other groups to win the awards

The group received certificates and souvenirs from the sponsors and organizers.

The group’s performance at the event thrilled the technical committee, who chose them as the drumming group and overall best performing group.

It wowed the audience at the occasion with dances from their extensive collection of traditional and choreographed dance routines, drawing applause from the jam-packed audience that had been won over by the pure might of traditional musical instruments.

The group performed over 15 distinct traditional dances, captivating the audience and leaving them clamoring for more.

Some of the dances it performed include Adowa, Kpanlogo, highlife, Bamaya, Borborbor, Kete, Klama among others.

However, the group was extremely appreciative of the festival’s organizers for the honours.

It expressed gratitude to the group’s followers for their years of support.
