Edward Kofi Ahiabor
A former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Keta under former President Kufuor’s administration, Edward Kofi Ahiabor, has been found dead in an uncompleted building at Anloga.
Mr. Ahiabor who was found dead on Friday, December, 21, 2018 at about 11:00am is believed to have died at age 55. Some residents in the area suspected that the late politician might have committed suicide.
Confirming the incident to DAILY GUIDE, Keta Divisional Commander, ACP Alex Amenyo, said the incident came to his attention at about 11am last Friday morning during a meeting with some officers of his division.
He said at the meeting, the officer in charge of Anloga had complained that the former DCE who was an avid farmer had gone missing for a couple of days and they were searching for him.
He said it was during the search that a call came to them that the lifeless body of Mr. Ahiabor had been found in an uncompleted building near his house in Anloga.
ACP Amenyo who could not confirm the cause of death revealed that, preliminary investigations showed that the body had reached decomposition stage.
Meanwhile his body had since been taken to the Keta Government Hospital morgue awaiting autopsy.
The late DCE who served under former President John Agyekum Kufuor from 2004 to 2008, prior to his appointment, was a two-time winner of the district best farmer award. He holds a degree in Agriculture and an MPhil in Soil Science from the University of Ghana. Mr. Ahiabor was born on November 30, 1963.
