Ursula Owusu-Ekuful with officials and team members of Faith Ladies
Faith Ladies FC have presented the 2022 Women’s Premier Super Cup trophy to the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma West and Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful.
The team, led by the club’s Chief Executive Officer, Ebenezer Allotey, was at the minister’s office last Friday to officially hand the trophy to Mrs. Owusu-Ekuful, who has provided motherly care to the club.
The team was recently crowned champions of the 2022 Women’s Premier Super Cup for the first time after beating 2021/22 Premier League and FA Cup winners, Ampem Darkoa Ladies 3-1 at the Aliu Mahama Stadium, Tamale.
The team’s CEO said, “We have won over five tournaments. We have qualified from the Division, and currently, we are in the Women’s Premier League. As debutants, we came second to Hasaacas Ladies FC.”
The Communications Minister expressed her joy for the success of the team which is based in her constituency, while pledging her support to them.
“I have indicated to you that I am available and excited that we have this team which is not grooming them physically, but mentally and spiritually as well. Your name, Faith Ladies, exemplifies how unique you are, and you live your faith,” Mrs. Owusu Ekuful stated.
