CAR OWNERS and drivers in the country have been cautioned against fixing fake car spare parts on their faulty vehicles, since such inferior materials can cause accidents, which may lead to injuries and possibly deaths.

In this regard, drivers and car owners have been admonished to always make sure that faulty parts in their vehicles are replaced with genuine car parts to help prevent avoidable crashes.

Mr. Andrew Lamptey, National Sales and Marketing Manager, Toyota Ghana Company Limited, gave the advice to drivers during this year’s annual Toyota Users Conference, which was held in Kumasi on Friday.

The programme offered Toyota Ghana the opportunity to educate its customers about the right things they should always do on their cars and on the road to help avert crashes.

According to him, some of the best human resources that the country crucially needs to help accelerate national development have sadly been lost on the road due to accidents that were caused by fake car parts.

Mr. Lamptey said fake car parts are not reliable as they can fail the driver when least expected; therefore car owners and drivers should always stick to buying genuine car parts from the right outlets to prevent disasters.

Toyota Ghana Company Ltd used the one-day conference to also educate their customers and stakeholders in the automobile industry about their new product. They also got feedback from them, regarding their products and services.

On his part, Mr. Takuya Kajuira, the MD of Toyota Ghana Ltd, in a speech read on his behalf by Mr. Atsushi Ueno, said Toyota Ghana has offered quality products and services to Ghanaians during the last 20 years.

He stated: “We consider the customer’s voice as a strong influence in business operations. Through such conferences, we gather tangible information for product improvement”.

According to him, Toyota Ghana has over the last two decades developed road maps for operational expansion consistently, which has resulted in the commissioning of new branches, with the latest one in the Takoradi area.
