Family Hunts ‘Lesbian’

The Muslim family of a bisexual lady have pronounced a ‘fatwa’ on her, declaring her wanted for engaging in a same-sex relationship.

Jamila Umar, even though married (to a man), has apparently been engaged in a sexual relationship with another lady, known only as Mariam, for decades, on the blindside of her family.

It was gathered that the pair were discovered on January 13, 2023, having sex by the husband of Mariam.

Alhaji Sadik, Jamila’s uncle, told this reporter that Mariam’s husband, like everybody else, never suspected that his wife and Jamila were sex mates until last Friday when he walked in on them.

“We were told that Mariam’s husband also thought they were friends who were fond of each other and nothing more. So on that day, he came home early from work, immediately after Juma’a (Friday prayers) around 2:00pm, only to catch Jamila and Mariam, having sex on his matrimonial bed,” Alhaji Sadik said.

“I am informed that the other lady had also been visiting Jamila in Newtown. To engage in such filth on Friday of all days, as a Muslim? This is sacrilegious!” he exclaimed.

It was gathered further that the incident took place at Fadama, a suburb of Accra, which happens to be the backyard of Ghana’s National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu.

Upon overcoming the shock, Mariam’s husband started meting out instant punishment to the two ladies until the residents of the area took over the task.

According to the information gathered, Jamila was able to escape to Newtown, also in Accra, where she lived, but the unusual story spread so fast that it got to the ears of her husband and her own family, who are now bent on killing her to save their face.

“This is shocking, considering that Jamila is married. She was one of my favourites in the family, because she is soft-spoken and gentle. I did not know that behind all that gentleness lies a devilish inclination,” Jamila’s uncle remarked.

At the time of filing this story, Jamila could not be located, and all efforts to speak to Mr. Umar, her husband, proved futile.
