Farouk Aliu Mahama
The Partnership for Poverty Reduction Chief Executive Officer and son of former Vice President, Farouk Aliu Mahama, has supported farmers in the Yendi municipality of the Northern Region.
He assisted farmers with 600 pieces of knapsack and also distributed farm implements to more than 800 farmers.
The son of the former Vice President told DGN Online that farming is the main source of livelihood for residents in Yendi and that is what motivated him to help farmers in the area.
Mr. Mahama commended government for the Planting for Food and Jobs policy and encouraged farmers in Yendi to take advantage of the policy.
The CEO of Partnership for Poverty Reduction revealed that his intervention program will be replicated in other parts of the Northern region to help fight poverty in the region.
He however called on the good people of Northern region to sustain the current peace in the region to enable them benefit from development projects from government.
Mr. Mahama is aspiring to lead the New Patriotic Party(NPP) in the Yendi Constituency.
