Fella Makafui
Actress and entrepreneur Fella Makafui has announced her decision to seek legal redress against her ex-husband, rapper Medikal.
She disclosed this in a statement released on Sunday.
“A few months ago, my husband and I agreed to end our four-year marriage. We have, therefore, been waiting for our respective families to complete the required customary divorce rites. Recently, however, my husband has been making a little too many public statements on our marriage, our beloved daughter, my family, and my businesses,” Fella stated.
She expressed her distress over the public comments made by Medikal, which she claimed contain significant untruths and have caused considerable hurt to her, her family, and her business interests.
“For my deep respect for our two families, for the relative privacy which the institution of marriage requires, and most importantly, in the best interest of our beloved daughter, I have decided to resort to only lawful and appropriate forums to address my grievances,” she added.
Fella explained that she has reluctantly initiated a legal process to ensure the safety of herself and her daughter and to properly streamline and regulate co-parenting duties in accordance with the law.
“I am sincerely grateful to you for the extreme support which you have given to me, my family, and my businesses and brand over the years. I, however, plead with you to understand the privacy that the difficult time that I am in now requires,” Fella concluded.
Fella and Medikal tied the knot in 2020 and have welcomed their first daughter, Island Frimpong.
Medikal publicly announced their separation months ago, stating that they decided to focus on co-parenting their daughter.
Fella had not directly addressed the separation until now, as she seeks to counter the numerous accusations levelled against her by Medikal.
