A raging fire has swept through the Timber Market near the new Nissan Vehicles Assembly Plant in Tema.
Several properties including wooden sheds have been destroyed by the ravaging fire.
Some eyewitnesses told DGN Online that the fire started at about 12pm and the Fire Service arrived on the scene to help put out the fire.
It is not immediately known the cause of the fire, but traders were seen helplessly looking at the blaze as their structures were being consumed.
However, some affected people suspect electrical fault for the fire outbreak, saying that constant power outage in the area could spark the fire.
According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) 5 fire appliances already dispatched to the Scene to fight the fire as more appliances are on its way to augment the effort in dousing out the fire.
They expressed their commitment to help bring the situation under control on time.
