Five Dead, Four Injured In Asikuma Junction Accident

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has confirmed five people lost their lives in a tragic road traffic accident at Asikuma Junction, in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region.

According to an official release on the Facebook page of Ghana National Fire Service, the distress call came through on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, prompting an immediate response from a rescue team led by Assistant Station Officer Fred Aganu, accompanied by the Acting District Fire Officer, ADO I Godwin Gbedemah.

The accident involved a grey Toyota Noah with registration number GX 422-25 and a tipper truck with registration number GT 725-19.

Out of a total of nine (9) victims, four (4), including a minor, were successfully rescued by the GNFS personnel and transported to the Peki Government Hospital by the National Ambulance Service for medical treatment. Unfortunately, the remaining five (5) occupants were found unresponsive and were handed over to the police for further action.

The GNFS commended the swift coordination between the Fire Service, the National Ambulance Service, and the Police Service in managing the tragic incident.
