A Fulani herdsman has allegedly been burnt to death by unknown assailants at Lamporga, a community near Bole, in the Northern Region.
The man, whose name was given as Barry Haruna, reportedly left the house about a month ago and informed his sister-in-law and mother that he was going to visit a friend called Konteny.
According to sources, Barry planned to move from his friend’s house to the bush to cut grass to roof his hut.
According to the father of Barry, he informed the chief of the community who invited the friend Konteny but he denied meeting the deceased.
The family made announcement on radio stations and information centers in the area in order to trace Barry but to no avail.
The family deployed a search team which discovered the charred body of Barry in the bush some miles away from his home.
According to the father, when the body was discovered, the family sent a message to the chief and elders, but they allegedly did not take interest in the matter again.
“We have been living in the community for the past seven years and have been at peace with everybody so we do not understand what motivate anybody to kill Barry, who left behind two wives and two children, according to the family.
