The second edition of the annual Ghana Comedy Awards, organised by Creative Republic will be held in May, the organisers have announced.
The purpose of the award scheme is to raise awareness of and celebrate the distinctive inventiveness of Ghanaian comedians who work really hard to provide their humor to Ghanaians.
The event’s primary goal is to promote and elevate the comedy industry.
Comedian of the Year, Standup Comedian of the Year, Comic Skit Act of the Year, Most Popular Comedian of the Year, Female Comedian of the Year, Comedy Actor of the Year, Comedy Actress of the Year, and Unsung Comedian of the Year are a few of the categories.
Celebrated comedians such as OB Amponsah, Lekzy De comic, Ebenezer Dwomoh, MJ the comedian, and among others are anticipated to receive nominations in some of the categories.
“We anticipate a fantastic event on the night, so this year looks to be fantastic. This year’s event has a number of activities lined-up to celebrate comedians in a grand, according to Dennis Boateng, CEO of the Ghana Comedy Awards.
