Ghana Meets Naija
Ghana Meets Naija, a music group made up three Ghanaians and two Nigerians, has officially released its latest single titled ‘Party’ for music fans in Ghana and Nigeria to celebrate this year’s Christmas festivities.
Produced by Ojee Beatz, the song released a few days ago is yet to be made available on all the social media platforms, where music fans in both countries can download it for free.
The song, which is already enjoying massive rotations on some selected radio stations in Kumasi, is the first single released by the group this year.
It has inspiring and soul-touching lyric and danceable afro pop fused with francophone beat.
The music video for the song is currently on the editing bench and expected to be on television early next year.
In the late 2001, the group formerly known as Afutufuo, was among the most sought-after groups in the country. The members played all the gigs and got music fans dancing to their songs.
Due to the collaboration between Ghanaian and Nigerian artistes, the name of the group was changed from Afutufuo to Ghana Meets Naija.
The group is made up of Ibrahim Abubakar (Ice), Fuseni Musah (Pee), Justice Obeng (Ojee), Legoh G. Edamkue (Fynplay) and Addo Akaeze Joseph (Good Fellow).
They have a number of danceable singles which include ‘Wokasa’ among others to their credit.
Known for their unique delivery, they have been in the music industry for more than a decade and always leave an impression with the kind of words they use in all their songs.
Their songs bear a resemblance to music giants like Meiway, Screwfaze and a few others.
Listening to the lyrics carefully and the kind of message they send to music fans, one will easily be moved to sing and dance along.
“The group is ready. So far we’ve recorded more songs but in the meantime we are dropping ‘Party’ for our fans in Ghana and Nigeria to celebrate Christmas with. It took us a long time but we have been preparing to give something good to our fans,” one of the members said.
He hinted that they are in the studio working on a number of singles to be released next year.
“Our next album is on fire. It is still cooking. When it has finished cooking, it would be a surprise to all Ghanaians, and our fans out there,” Ghana Meets Naija new album, as it said, is likely to inundate the market and the airwaves next year, the group told BEATWAVES.
However, declining to state the album’s possible title, the members disclosed they were doing all these for recording purposes, since in the course of recording, the title could be changed.
The group has, at the moment, one album to its credit.
