The organisers of the annual Ghana Music Awards UK (GMA-UK) have revealed that this year’s edition of the awards ceremony will be launched in Accra on July 1, at the La Palm Beach Hotel in Accra,

Instituted some years ago, the launch is expected to be attended by various stakeholders in the Ghanaian music industry.

This was made known to BEATWAVES by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Alordia Promotions, Eric Nii Tetteh, also known as DJ Alordia, in a telephone chat with BEATWAVES.

BEATWAVES learnt that the launch of the event will be used to officially unveil the nominees, as well as unveil other activities lined up for the awards ceremony to be held in London in October.

Also to be revealed at the launch would be the all new exciting prize packages for this year’s winners, as well some of the artistes billed to perform at the main event.

The GMA-UK, as always, offers a platform to energise artistes, managers, producers, sound engineers, and other industry players to step up the quality of what they churn out, so they can earn a place on international platforms.

Ghana Music Awards UK is being organised by Alordia Promotions to celebrate and appreciate pioneers of Ghanaian music and to reward individuals who, in diverse ways, have raised the standard of Ghanaian music in the country.

At last year’s event, gospel artiste, Diana Hamilton, won the overall Artiste of the Year, Gospel Song of the Year, and Gospel Artiste of the Year awards.
