The Ghana Health Service (GHS) and partners, on behalf of the Ministry of Health (MoH), will embark on vaccination campaign against cholera for persons aged one year and above, and continue with other practices such as frequent washing of hands with soap under running water before eating, cooking or after visiting the toilet, drinking safe water, eating hot foods and keeping clean surroundings.
The vaccine is being implemented in phases in districts with cholera outbreaks. So far, over 150,000 people have been successfully vaccinated. The vaccine has proven to be effective at reducing the number of outbreaks.
