Like the proverbial ‘…you can’t  go to bed  except you bow’, Mustapha Ussif, the Youth and Sports Minister has instructed that the surest and guaranteed way to get to Qatar is to go through Kenpong Travel and Tours.

Consequently, the minister has advised travelling fans interested in making it to the football festival to choose Kenpong Travel and Tours, the official travel agency appointed by the ministry for the Mundial.

The versatile Sports Minister has, however, stated that government will not send fans to Qatar for the World Cup, but will rely on corporate Ghana if it becomes necessary to rally support for the Black Stars in Qatar.

He has commended corporate entities like Gold Fields and MTN for supporting the Black Stars World Cup campaign.

Speaking recently during a cheque presentation for the Black Stars by Gold Fields, the minister said, “Ladies and gentlemen, in view of the current situation our country finds itself in, government has decided it won’t be financing supporters to the World Cup.

“As we have already announced, interested Ghanaians desiring to travel to Qatar for the World Cup can do through Kenpong Travel and Tour, the official travel agency appointed by the ministry.”

Meanwhile, Kennedy Agyepong (Kenpong), Executive Chairman of Kenpong Travel and Tours, left Ghana yesterday to Qatar to finalise preparations ahead of the tournament.

The competition is scheduled for November 20 to December 18.
