Goat Thieves Cause Drama In Court

 

In a stunning turn of events, two men accused of stealing goats in Accra’s Teshie Camp Two area have confessed to the crime, revealing a sophisticated syndicate that targeted high-value livestock.

Emmanuel Agyei, aka Obama, and David Agyei, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit stealing and stealing, admitting to stealing goats on multiple occasions, including on August 8, 2024.

However, they denied stealing the nine foreign-breed goats valued at $13,500 belonging to the complainant, Seidu Yakubu.

The court heard that the syndicate, which included three accomplices still at large, used stolen cars to transport the goats to hideouts in Teshie and James Town.

The Police Intelligence Directorate (PID) mounted a surveillance operation, leading to the arrest of the three accused persons.

The prosecution revealed that Emmanuel and David admitted to stealing and selling goats, leading the Police to a hideout where four sheep and two goats were found.

Baba Musah, aka Baba Talatu, a butcher, was also arrested for dishonestly receiving stolen goods.

As the investigation continues, more shocking details are expected to emerge about the goat theft syndicate.
