In a shocking turn of events, renowned rapper Maradona Yeboah Adjei, aka Guru NKZ, has been disqualified from the University of Ghana Students’ Representative Council (SRC) presidential election.
The artist’s bid to lead the student body has been halted due to a technicality – his non-resident status on campus.
According to sources, the University of Ghana’s constitution stipulates that only hall residents are eligible to contest the SRC presidency.
Guru NKZ’s campaign team has vowed to challenge the disqualification, determined to clear the hurdle and proceed with his presidential ambitions.
Guru announced his intention to run for the UG SRC presidency on May 9, 2024, via social media, welcoming students back to school and declaring his candidacy.
The rapper’s decision to enter the political fray was met with excitement and anticipation from the student body.
However, the disqualification has thrown a spanner in the works, leaving Guru NKZ’s supporters reeling.
