Hasaacas Ladies Promise To Conquer Africa

Hasaacas Ladies Football Club, who recently won the WAFU Zone ‘B’ Women’s Champions League tournament in Abidjan, has presented the trophy to the Municipal Chief Executive for Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipal Assembly (EKMA) in the Western Region, Kojo Acquah.

 

The club based in the Western Region returned home with the ultimate after beating River Angels of Nigeria 3-1 in the final.

 

The WAFU Zone ‘B’ Champions who were at the premises of EKMA on Tuesday, also presented two other trophies they won in the country–the Women’s Premier League and the Women’s FA Cup title– to the MCE.

 

Former CEO of Sekondi Hasaacas and the leader of the delegation, Ofori Acquah, disclosed that the team will also represent Ghana in the Women African Club Championship scheduled for Egypt in November this year.

 

He promised that the team will work hard to conquer Africa in the Egypt championship.

 

He added that the club has already presented its treble trophies to the Vice President of Republic of Ghana and the Western Regional Minister, Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah.

 

The MCE for EKMA, Kojo Acquah, praised the team and the management for the success chalked and stressed the government was committed to supporting them to win more laurels.

 

He told the girls that, “we are celebrating your achievement today and I urge you to continue to strive for excellence in your chosen career to enable you to get into the international market and make some good monies for your living.”

 

The MCE later presented an amount of GH¢2,000 to the club for their efforts.
