Henry Quartey Tops Online Poll

Henry Quartey

The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Henry Quartey, has emerged as the most active government official in a recent online poll undertaken among 1,680 respondents.

With 1,151 persons out of the 1,680 voting for him, the Regional Minister garnered 68.51% in percentages. He was followed by Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia who polled 471 representing 28.04%.

The Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta garnered 58 votes representing 3.45%.

Even before the poll, the Greater Accra Regional Minister who is also the MP for the Ayawaso Central in the Greater Accra Region, had won the hearts of many not only in the region but outside it.

His management of the relocation of onion sellers from their Agbogbloshie to their present location at Adjen Kotoku in the Ga West District won him national acclaim, all previous efforts having failed to achieve the feat.

The onion sellers who initially resisted their relocation to their present location have not ceased commending him having discovered the dividends from the action.

The ‘Let Accra Work’ and the ‘Operation Clean Your Frontage’ campaigns have also been accepted across partisan lines.

The minister before embarking on his campaigns engaged with both sides of the political divide, an approach which has contributed to his success and national acclaim.

Mr. Quartey regularly meets selected media practitioners for discussions on his agenda for the region.

Until his appointment as the Greater Accra Regional Minister, he held the deputy Interior Minister portfolio from where he was moved to the National Security Ministry.

Fondly called the ‘Gentle Giant’ by his many admirers, his win as the ‘Most Active Government Official’ has not surprised many who have followed the activities of government appointees.
