A hilarious new Ghanaian TV series, ‘The Addisons’, produced by Impact Film Studios, EA Productions and Dromotion Pictures, will start streaming on Farmhouse Movies, one of the country’s foremost streaming platforms for movies from Friday April 9.
Directed by award-winning Kwame Kyei Baffour, the new series is promised to give cinema enthusiasts among others an amazing experience this period.
It is a rib cracking tale about the Addisons family and how family members try to live their lives at the expense of the other.
It stars great actors such as Peter Richie, Too Sweet Annan, musician D’Cryme and a host of new faces.
The series was launched on Wednesday via a press screening event at MJ Grande Hotel in Accra, where producers of the series also signed a contract with Farmhouse Movies to put the series on their platform.
The ceremony was also attended by a number of personalities such as veteran movie director Ivan Quashigah, who is also the CEO of Farmhouse Productions, actress and producer Yvonne Nelson and Anthony Woode among others.
In an address, Director Kwame Kyei Baffour congratulated Farmhouse Movies for providing such a huge distribution platform to cushion Ghana’s movie industry.
“Unlike other platforms where they give 50-50 shares, Farmhouse is giving me 85% share of my film. Farmhouse is taking just 15% and even using part of that percentage to promote my film,” he disclosed.
Also speaking at the ceremony, Ivan Quashigah underscored the need for stakeholders in Ghana’s movie industry to embrace streaming online because it is not only the new direction the entire world is following, but it will help curb the distribution lapses in the system.
