Shatta Wale has eaten a humble pie over his involvement in the assault case of workers of Oswald T Construction Company.
In a video in circulation, he said he is sorry for his actions, particularly to Kenneth Acquah, project manager of the construction company and pleaded for forgiveness.
On Monday, the ‘Melissa’ crooner led a gang to assault Mr. Acquah and some other workers at a road construction site at Adjiringanor, East Legon, in Accra, for not extending the road to his (Shatta) office.
Videos from the awkward incident captured the controversial dancehall act and his gang unlawfully preventing construction workers from doing their job.
They hurled insults at them and allegedly assaulted Kenneth and others in the process.
According to Kenneth, one of Shatta’s men slapped him in the face.
After a medical examination, he subsequently reported the case to the East Legon Police who issued an arrest warrant for Shatta Wale on Tuesday.
Later, on Tuesday evening, a video of Shatta apologising to Kenneth and his men popped up on social media. It is however not clear if the apology came about after going to see the police.
“Hi, my name is Shatta Wale as you all know and I believe that there is some news circulating around me and having a fight with some contractors and like I’m saying, the man in question is my dad, my friend. He’s somebody that I always wanted to meet but it’s so unfortunate things had to happen this way but I also want to say sorry to Kennedy for everything that happened. I believe he will find a place in his heart to forgive me…” he said in the apology video.
“A lot has happened, needless to explain or defend. Wish to apologise to everyone, especially the contractor and Kennedy, let us work together to build our motherland, One Love,” he added in a tweet.
