Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry and Member of Parliament for New Juaben South, in the Eastern Region, Michael Okyere Baafi is focusing on developing Koforidua, particularly in the areas of education and infrastructure.
Mr Okyere Baafi, who presented equipment to the Koforidua Technical University, and also cut sod for the construction of an astroturf pitch for the school emphasized the importance of supporting the institution, which is the only university in the municipality and one of the best in the Eastern Region.
He noted that the university’s image and infrastructure need to be improved to attract more students and make it a hub for academic excellence.
The Deputy Minister also highlighted his efforts to address security concerns in the area, stating that he wants to create a peaceful atmosphere for residents and students.
He mentioned that a sports stadium is being built to cater for the sporting needs of the students and teachers, as well as the community.
Th MP also spoke about the renovation and maintenance work being done at the Koforidua Stadium, which has been closed for four months. He explained that the work is necessary to maintain the artificial turf and ensure the stadium remains in good condition.
The Deputy Minister’s commitment to developing Koforidua is evident in his words and actions.
