Mustapha Hamid
THE MINISTER for Inner City and Zongo Development, Mustapha Hamid, has vehemently debunked reports that he is a blatant liar.
He has therefore warned the ‘faceless’ people that are erroneously creating an impression that he is a liar to quickly refrain from that weird behaviour.
It would be recalled that Mustapha Hamid said publicly that the ‘Pelele’ stream at Aboabo in Kumasi had been desilted by government. He therefore said the perennial flooding of the area would soon be a thing of the past.
Few hours after the minister’s remarks, some ‘faceless’ people started to label him as a blatant liar on social media platforms, especially Facebook.
These people also posted current pictures of the ‘Pelele’ stream, which looked like it had not been desilted as the minister had claimed early on.
But in a sharp rebuttal, Mustapha Hamid insisted that he is not a liar, maintaining that the stream had been desilted a few months ago by his ministry.
He explained: “From April to June 2018, the Zongo Ministry, then headed by my predecessor, Saddique Boniface Abubakar, desilted the ‘Pelele’ stream to stop floods at Aboabo. This is a fact nobody can deny; therefore if refuse has made its way back into stream, that doesn’t change the fact that the stream was desilted a few months ago”.
Sounding very upset, Mustapha Hamid stated: “I did not lie about the ‘Pelele’ stream when the president met journalists so it should be noted”.
He also announced that the Zongo Development Fund Authority is now properly positioned to carry out more projects to enhance the growth of the Zongo areas.
