Ofori Amponsah
Renowned highlife musician, Ofori Amponsah, has disclosed that he possesses the gift of prophecy, a divine ability granted by God to foresee future events.
Speaking in an interview with Berla Mundi on the Day Show, the ‘Otoolege’ hitmaker shared insights into his spiritual journey, explaining that his prophetic gift existed long before his rise to musical fame.
“I don’t want to speak about it today, but like a gift… I can sit down and say in the year 2020, this would happen,” he revealed when asked about his ability to prophesy.
According to the artiste, music served as a platform to express his God-given prophetic abilities. He shared that he often integrated his foreseen visions into his songs, noting that the gift of prophecy is his true calling, even more than music.
“For example, I am in the studio, and it comes to me that in 2020 this will happen, so I put it in the song because I don’t have a church. That’s actually my gift, more than even the music,” he said.
Before gaining prominence as a highlife star, Ofori Amponsah was deeply involved in church activities, including preaching, leading worship, and singing.
He clarified that his turn toward spirituality was not a sudden decision to give his life to Christ but rather a continuation of church work from earlier in life.
“Ofori Amponsah was already in church, singing in church before I became Ofori Amponsah. So, it’s not like I tried to give my life to Christ. I was already doing that,” he explained.
Reflecting on his break from music, Ofori Amponsah said it was necessary for his personal growth and to realign his life. He admitted that he had faced challenges and was heading in the wrong direction before stepping away from the music scene.
“I was a bit going wayward until I just took a break and came back,” he noted.
