Jumia Encourages Ghanaian Entrepreneurs

Jumia, Africa’s leading e-commerce platform, leveraged on the impact of influencers and bloggers to ensure a strategic marketing outcome of Black Friday.

These successes were wrought with Black Friday targets met and sellers making more money than usual on the website.

Among the many discount raining seasons that took place last year, Jumia’s Black Friday opened a discount door for all online customers to shop and win on jumia.com.gh.

Excitement hit the roof as people rushed to grab the best of items a week before the kick off.

Customers got the best of prices on brands like Motorola, Infinix, Nasco, Nexus, Fero, Samsung, Hp, Hotwav, Binatone, Chigo, Maybelline, Hanes, Darling and Ghandour.

The company had more than 2 million engagements on social media, as well as a whopping 10 million visitors on its website.

Local vendors who were selling five items a day on the Jumia website sold more than 10 items a day during Black Friday festival.

Jumia’s Black Friday reduced the stress and hassle of a traditional offline market rush by offering quality products at affordable prices.

Jumia further did the magic in helping customer save big during the Xmas festivity.

An item such as Skyworth HD LED Satellite TV ‘32’ inch was slashed down from GH¢850 to GH¢699 and delivered at customer’s doorstep.

Nexus NX-125 Refrigerator 93 litre silver went for GH¢420 instead of GH¢620 and Lenovo V110 went for GH¢1,499 instead of GH¢1,900.

Vouchers were occasionally given to customers to further reduce the price on items they love to have.

Jumia gave vouchers to customers that first clicked and shared Jumia posts across all social media platforms.

During the Black Friday festival, customers enjoyed up to 80 percent discount on almost everything product.

It further hosted the ever popular Jumia Voice competition that awarded amazing prizes such as a trip to Dubai and a Gh¢10,000 voucher.

Jumia believes every entrepreneur in Ghana has the power to carve for themselves the niche they desires to have.

Jumia started from somewhere and Ghanaian entrepreneurs can also do same.
